Each competitor has 40 minutes to execute a Traditional Cut and style. Contestant will be judged and scored on the following:

Cut must incorporate scissors and clippers, CTBE is looking for gentlemen cuts: Combover, Pomps, Tapers, Part and Comps, D.A’s etc.
Haircut will be graded on cuts and finished look/style.

NOTE: Points will be deducted if you are not fully prepared.

15 Minute Fade SOLD OUT!

Each competitor has 15 minutes to complete and will be judged and scored on the following:

Speed and finished product.
Haircut model must have a #2 or equivalent on the top before competition begins.
The top must be taken down to a MINIMUM of 1½ .
Longer hair and scissor techniques are welcome.

NOTE: Points will be deducted if you are not fully prepared.

Freestyle SOLD OUT!

Each competitor has 40 minutes to complete and will be judged and scored on the following:

Competitor has a option to do whatever he or she wants on model with no reference point such as paper,cell phone tablet etc.
Basically only using skill and imagination.

NOTE: Points will be deducted if you are not fully prepared.

Fade/Beard SOLD OUT!

Each competitor has 20 minutes to complete and will be judged and scored on the following:

Model must have a #2 or higher on the crown and and some form of facial hair in order to qualify in Fade/Beard category.
Model’s hair must be taken down to a MINIMUM of 1½.
Longer hair is welcome.
A beard or goatee must be groomed to some extent.
Contestants will be judged on finished product of Hair and Beard.

NOTE: Points will be deducted if you are not fully prepared.

Lady Barber Battle SOLD OUT!

Female competitors only have 40 mins to execute your cut and will be judged and scored on the following:

Judges will be looking for a skin fade on the sides with a hard part and a combover hair cut or even a pompadour with a hard part.

NOTE: Points will be deducted if you are not fully prepared.

Best of Both Worlds SOLD OUT!

1 Barber 1 Cosmetologist 1 Model

The 2 competitors have 60 mins to perform a freestyle cut and style on 1 man or women model. The model can be pre colored and artificial hair and or props can be added to create a extreme look if deemed necessary. The model must receive haircut from barber of some sort. i.e a undercut, shaved sides, designs etc. and the stylist can create updo or blow dry.

NOTE: Points will be deducted if you are not fully prepared.

Student Freestyle SOLD OUT!

The student will have 50 minutes to perform their best freestyle design on stage with a “barber coach” on stage assisting them. Students are allowed to have their school instructors coach them on stage during competition.

Duplicate Design SOLD OUT!

CT Barber Expo staff will reveal the design on stage 5 min before category starts. The sketch of some sort in color and black and white on paper and will also be on LED Screens. Competitor has 65 minutes to execute design. 1st place winner will receive a 2019 Nissan Altima courtesy of our media partner Executive Auto Group.

Prize:
The prize available to be won in the Giveaway is one (1) 2019 Nissan Altima. No cash or other substitution may be made. The winner is responsible for all costs associated with accepting the prize, including but not limited to taxes, license, insurance, document fees. The winner is solely responsible for removal of the vehicle from the CT Convention Center to a destination as determined by the winner. All fees and expenses associated with the removal of the vehicle is the responsibility of the winner. If a winner cannot be contacted or is disqualified for any reason, the Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo reserves the right to determine an alternate winner or not to award that winner’s prize, in its sole discretion. All contestants must be present to win on the day of the event. All contestants must have a valid Driver’s License. All contestants must be 18 years or older to participate. Winner must have proof of auto insurance prior to accepting the car. Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo and Executive Auto Group, Inc. employees, immediate family members of Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo and Executive Auto Group employees and Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo and Executive Auto Group, Inc. vendors are ineligible to enter or win. Any questions or final decisions will be made by Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo. Winner will be required to pay all applicable taxes. Winner will receive a 1099 from Executive Auto Group, Inc. Winner must take ownership of and remove the vehicle from the CT Convention Center on or before May 21, 2019. No cash value, no cash will be given.

Taxes: Any valuation of the prize stated above is based on available information provided to Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo, and the value of any prize awarded to a winner(s) may be reported for tax purposes as required by law. Each winner is solely responsible for reporting and paying any and all applicable taxes related to the prize and paying any expenses associated with any prize which is not specifically provided for in the official rules. Winner must provide Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo with valid identification and a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number before any prize will be awarded. The winner will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS. Winner is required to fill out a W-9 which will require Social Security Number.

Publicity: Except where prohibited, participation in the car giveaway constitutes winner’s consent to Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo’s and its agents’ use of winner’s name, likeness, video, photograph, voice, opinions and/or hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide and in all forms of media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity, without further payment or consideration and winner agrees to appear in a television commercial to assist in promoting Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo.

Compliance with the Law: The conduct of the Contest is governed by the applicable federal, state and local laws, which take precedence over any rule to the contrary.
Conduct and Decisions: Conduct, Judging, and Decisions. By participating in the Contest, participants agree to be bound by the decisions of Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo personnel. Persons who violate any rule, gain unfair advantage in participating in the Contest, or obtain winner status using fraudulent means will be disqualified. Unsportsmanlike, disruptive, annoying, harassing or threatening behavior is prohibited. The Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo will interpret these rules and resolve any disputes, conflicting claims or ambiguities concerning the rules or the Contest and the Company’s decisions concerning such disputes shall be final. If the conduct or outcome of the Contest is affected by human error, any mechanical malfunctions or failures of any kind, intentional interference or any event beyond the control of Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo, Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo reserves the right to terminate this Contest, or make such other decisions regarding the outcome as Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo deems appropriate. All decisions will be made by the Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo and are final. The Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo may waive any of these rules in its sole discretion.

Release Waiver and Indemnification: By participating, contestants agree that Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo , its shareholders, agents and representatives, parents, directors, officers, agents and/or employees, administrator, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies, prize suppliers, including but not limited to Executive Auto Group, Inc. and legal advisors are not responsible or liable for, and shall be released, indemnified and held harmless from: (a.) any condition caused by events beyond the control of Major Entertainment Group DBA CT Barber Expo that may cause the car giveaway to be disrupted or corrupted; (b.) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the car giveaway; (c.) any and all harm, claims, damages, losses, liabilities, injury, cost or expense whatsoever including the removal of the vehicle from the CT Convention Center and actions of any kind in connection with or resulting from participation in the car giveaway, acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and damage to or loss of property, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy arising out of participation in the car giveaway or any car giveaway related activity or receipt or use or misuse of any prize.
